The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has signed a strategic agreement with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to advance healthcare regulatory practices.
The OECD will conduct a comprehensive study, as part of Phase II of its collaboration with DoH, to assess and support the agency’s regulatory reform efforts.
Phase II will focus on integrating good regulatory practices, improving transparency and accountability, and reducing compliance costs.
It will also include the development of a public consultation framework and an assessment of DoH’s regulatory performance using the OECD’s Indicators of Regulatory Policy and Governance framework.
The framework covers areas such as regulatory impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, and post-implementation review.
This follows the initial phase of the project launched in 2019, which focused on strengthening DoH’s policy framework, building institutional capacity, and embedding evidence-based decision-making.
